Seminar: Interviewing in English.
Interviewing in English is an intense, all-day workshop to help young professionals make a strong impression during a job interview.
The morning general session will discuss the following topics:
- What American companies are looking for
- How to attract attention and leave positive impression instantly
- How to answer the 6 most common interview questions
- How to begin and end an interview
- The unspoken rules of spoken English
- What Americans are listening for
- Americans’ fascination with accents
- How to speak English with ease
- Conjunctions & Short Sentences
- Body language, gestures and deportment.
Each participant will then be part of a 2-hour, small-group session in the afternoon. These sessions are devoted to practicing interviews and providing individualized feedback. Interview techniques will be analyzed through interactive exercises, peer interactions and mock interviews.
Scott Morgan - Seminar Leader:
Mr. Morgan is an expert in American communication. He has been teaching presentation and interview skills for over 10 years to a variety of clients including International Paper, the National Institutes of Health, Merck, NASA, Cap Gemini and several universities (Duke, Cornell, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina). He also teaches media training to several think tanks in Washington, DC including the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the World Resources Institute (WRI). www.premierepublicspeaking.com
Mr. Morgan has been on television in the United States for over 10 years, most notably on Home and Garden Television (www.scottwesleymorgan.com) and has been in several Hollywood movies. He is the author of, Speaking about Science published by Cambridge University Press.
